Up, Up, & Away
Who doesn't love a cute baby shower? While I was digging through some photos to submit for publication, I came across this sweet baby shower from back in the summer. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE weddings, but sometimes it is so refreshing to get to do a true "themed" event and use more creativity than usual!
For this one, I knew we needed it to be simple as that is the mom-to-be's style, but it had to be special because it was for my sister in law and sweet nephew on the way!
I designed and created the watercolor hot air balloon invitations and the theme fell into place from there. The week of the party, I enlarged some of the watercolor hot air balloons and made a garland to mix in with the other fringed garlands I had already sourced. I found paper berry crates at a local craft store, picked a variety of ribbons, grabbed a variety pack of washi tape in the color tones I wanted, and then ordered a dozen helium balloons! The night before the party, I assembled the cutest "hot air balloons" to hang on the corners of the mantle and I had the perfect gold vases/baskets to do the same thing with on the dining room table. I added in some live floral to the baskets on the dining room table, and we were set to shower Jennifer and Brantley!
The Cake Diva made the delicable and in theme cake for us!
Enjoy!
